Central Park entrance at Fifth Avenue & 59th Street

Scholars’ Gate, the Central Park entrance at Fifth Avenue (foreground) and 59th Street. The Old Plaza Hotel, in its first design, is to the left, when the hotel was still under construction. The Navarro apartment houses is on 59th Street, between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue. This vintage hand-colored lithograph (copyrighted 1886) is part of the lettersheets published by Charles Magnus (1826-1900) in the "150 Views of New York and Environs".
