Corner of Wall Street and Broadway - 1890

The United Bank Building to the left, was built in 1880-1881, formerly occupied by the Bank of the Republic since 1851. The Union Trust Building, at 78-82 Broadway, is partially seen on the right. It was completed in the fall of 1890 and demolished in 1929.

The three buildings around the corner, five and four stories high, were built about the first half of 19th century. The four-story building on the corner, at 86 Broadway / 1 Wall Street, was here occupied by an agency of the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company and the Wilson's Pharmacy.
