Tall buildings line both sides of the street. Pedestrians can be seen on the sidewalks and a horse and cart in the street. The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, facing Madison Square, can be seen in the background.
Madison Avenue runs from East 23rd Street, at Madison Square, to 142nd Street, in Harlem. The avenue was named after James Madison, the fourth President of the United States of America.
