Produce Exchange Bank Building, Bowling Green - 1910

Original title: Produce Exchange Bank Nos. 10-12 Broadway, at Beaver Street. Photograph published in 1910 (possibly taken before) in the book Both Sides of Broadway from Bowling Green to Central Park.

The Produce Exchange Bank Building was erected between 1904 and 1905 on the same site of the old Adelphi House, destroyed in 1845. Before the construction of the Produce Exchange Bank Building, the site was occupied by a 5-story building, which was destroyed in 1923.

Since its foundation in 1883, the New York Produce Exchange Bank had its quarters in the Produce Exchange, across Beaver Street, until the construction of its own building. The building was demolished to make way for the expansion of the Standard Oil Building in the 1920s.
