Hotel Continental - 1929

Hotel Continental, former Vendome, on Broadway at West 41st Street (left), 1929. The hotel and the three-story building adjoining the hotel on the right were demolished in the early 1930 to make way for the 42-story Continental Building. Photo by Edwing Levick (1869-1929). The 9-story Hotel Vendome opened in December 1882. On the right (photo), the 25-story 1440 Broadway, completed in 1925 and still standing today.
