Panoramic view, in two photographs (second part shows a lake in Central Park), of Fifty-Ninth Street from Sixth Avenue (with tracks) to The Plaza, seen from Central Park, with some building in 5th Avenue. The New York Athletic Club building, at the eastern corner of Sixth Avenue and 59th Street, opened in 1898 and was demolished after 1925. Photos from the Detroit Publishing Company photograph collection (Library of Congress), copyrighted in 1901.
