St. Paul's Chapel, Broadway and Fulton Street, Manhattan, Built 1764-1766; porch, 1767-1768; tower, 1794. General view from Broadway. Oldest church structure in Manhattan. George Washington worshipped at Saint Paul's during the brief period when New York was the nation's capital. Photo taken on June 13, 1913. The Emmet Obelisk is on the left. The original Astor House, to the right, was demolished in the same year and the Astor House Building was erected on the same site in 1915. The Woolworth Building, partially seen to the right, was completed in 1913.
